Minnesota State University head football coach Todd Hoffner and his wife Melodee light candles with supporters during a vigil outside the Hoffners’ Eagle Lake home Tuesday night. He is scheduled to be in court today for charges of creating and possessing child pornography for recordings he made of his own children. His attorney has asked a judge to dismiss the charges. In a statement released Tuesday, the Hoffners thanked friends, family and others for their support. “The family is overwhelmed by these compassionate and thoughtful expressions,” the statement said. “This outreach by the greater Mankato and Eagle Lake communities has been a source of strength and encouragement in these trying times both personally and professionally.
