LAKE CRYSTAL — A Belle Plaine man was seriously injured in a collision with a semi at 1:40 p.m. Thursday on Highway 60 west of Lake Crystal, the State Patrol said.
Thomas Cody, 53, was taken to an unknown hospital Thursday afternoon. His condition was not known Thursday night.
Cody was driving eastbound on Highway 60, as was a 1997 Peterbilt Conventional driven by Justin Grimmius, 25, of Lake Wilson. The semi collided with Cody's vehicle (the make and model were not released Thursday), causing it to roll into the median, according to the State Patrol.
A helicopter was on site, but it was not reported by the State Patrol whether Cody was airlifted to a hospital. Lake Crystal Ambulance, police and fire departments assisted.
The eastbound lane of Highway 60 between Blue Earth county roads 30 and 32 were closed while the State Patrol cleared the scene.
