---- — The Waseca County Free Fair has the distinction of being one of the earliest fairs to be held in south-central Minnesota, typically beginning in mid-July, still in the heart (and often, the heat and humidity) or summer.
The livestock show arena, the barns, the commercial and 4-H buildings always are popular attractions, of course.
But last week, with temperatures in the 90s and tropical dew points dominating the weather for much of the week, the shade they offered probably made them even more attractive destinations for fair-goers.
The Waseca County Free Fair concludes today.
