Envision 2020 began in 2006, with a planning and visioning stage that included well over 400 citizens taking the time to engage in the important work of envisioning a desired future for the Greater Mankato region. Together, they organized a visionary plan into six Key Performance Areas and identified a total of 34 goals. In late 2007 and early 2008, several task forces were created to implement specific goals of the plan, with more than 200 generous volunteers participating in this implementation process thus far. Today, it is important to continue the shared vision and momentum from all community stakeholders to grow the vision.
