Our view: State efforts to keep prescription drugs out of waterways are worthwhile

Why It Matters: The state beefing up efforts to keep prescription drugs out of landfills will benefit our waterways.

But having the drop-offs and using the drop-offs are two different things. The drop-off sites have been well-used, but surely there are people who either still don’t know about them or don’t bother using them. More education and constant education are key to making sure as many people as possible are aware of the drop-offs and of the benefits of not tossing drugs into water systems or landfills.

In if the new grant program will help spread the word evenly across the state, the proper disposal of prescription drugs will benefit all Minnesotans.
