The Giggling Girls of St. Peter are headed to the global finals for Destination ImagiNation for the fourth and final time. After nine successful years, the girls are retiring to pursue other interests.

Destination ImagiNation team disbands

The girls made the decision to compete in the senior level this year, which they were able to do because Herberg is 15. They could have competed at mid-level, but they wanted to say they had done everything before retiring.

Even at the more difficult level, the girls placed first at regionals and second at state. They hope to do well at globals, where they will compete next Saturday, but that’s not really a big concern. What’s most important to them is “to have as much fun as possible.”

“We just want to end with a big boom” Zallek said.

At A Glance

The Giggling Gulls have fallen short on fundraising this year and are about $1,000 short of the $5,000 needed to compete at global finals for Destination ImagiNation.
