MANKATO

It wasn’t hard to find something good to eat Saturday before Minnesota State’s homecoming football game against the University of Nebraska-Omaha. An expanded Taste of Mankato at its new home on the practice field right outside the stadium.

The Taste of Mankato’s proximity to the stadium this year made it easier for people to try a wide variety of foods from Mankato area restaurants before heading into the stadium. The more open space (it used to take place near Taylor Center) also allowed organizers to make the event more family and fan friendly, adding games and entertainment, including the Minnesota State pep band and the university’s cheerleaders and dance team.

Of course, a nearly perfect fall day for football helps bring people outdoors, too.
