Leanne's dresses were beautiful and got her through to Bryant Park.

Runway: The ladies pull it out

In the finals: Kenley, Korto and Leanne

Out: Jerell

Looks like it’ll be ladies’ night next Wednesday. Kenley actually pulled it out during this final challenge. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but her two dresses were my favorite of all four designers.

In order to make it into the final three and show at Bryant Park, the remaining four designers, in addition to their collections, had to design a wedding dress that was representative of their collections. Then, as a fun little added twist for us at home, they had to design a bridesmaid’s dress in one day when they returned to New York to show.

I can’t imagine spending all those months doing all that work on an entire collection of clothing, and then based on the judgment of just the wedding dress and the last-minute bridesmaid’s dress, they’re sent home. Crazy.

Actually, I read an article that said the remaining six designers all show at Bryant Park so that the public doesn’t find out before the final shows air who gets sent home. If you ask me, that takes away from the prestige of making it into the final three because the same important people are seeing the top six designers’ lines. But I digress.

Anyhow, I’m not sure what Jerell was thinking. He threw together the worst arts-and-crafts looking teal dress I’ve ever seen for his bridesmaid. It puckered. The lines were old-fashioned. It was plain.

Then on the flip side, his wedding dress was gray and tan and loud and all over the place. There were jewels and extra fabric hanging off the girl’s breasts and so very much tulle at the bottom. She looked like a cupcake that got dropped on the ground. Just wasn’t good enough to send him through. Jerell got auf’d.

Korto’s was similar. Same gross color scheme. Even her bridesmaid was in brown that came close to matching the wedding dress, which was way overworked. I didn’t get it. But they let her through.

Good thing, too, because her collection looked nothing like those hideous dresses. I can’t wait to see what she’s put together.
