MANKATO — An art exhibit comprised of works created by those who have been patients in state institutions will be on display for only two hours on Monday.
The one-time art exhibit — named "Remembering with Dignity" in conjunction with the organization that aims to remember the lives of those buried in unmarked graves at such state institutions — will be held 5-7 p.m. on Monday in the SMILES board room, 709 S. Front St.
Art was contributed by area residents who have had to live in state institutions and is meant to raise awareness "about the social issues people with disabilities continue to face."
The exhibit is also sponsored by Arc of Minnesota Southwest. For more information, visit www.arcmnsw.org or call 507-345-4223.
