MANKATO — The Mankato chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association is hosting its annual Fly In, Drive In Breakfast on Sunday.
The breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, sausage and beverage and will be held 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Mankato Regional Airport. Tickets are $7 for adults and children 5 and under are free. The event will be held rain or shine. The food is also free for commanding pilots, many of whom fly into the airport from across the state of Minnesota and the Midwest.
Also on display are a number of vintage and home-built aircraft. The event typically draws more than 1,000 visitors.
Among other programs, the Mankato EAA chapter provides a number of flight opportunities for youth. The group also provides three $1,000 scholarships per year for youth to attend a flight institute in Wisconsin.
Providing musical entertainment throughout the event will be Gary Tyson and Paul Durenberger.
