July art classes at Carnegie, 410

MANKATO -- There's no better time than summer to pursue your creative streak.

Here are some opportunities:

Carnegie Art Center

- Handmade signature book: 1-4 p.m. on July 12. Fee is $25 for members and $45 for non-members as instructor Jill Stoffregen teaches how to create a handbound book.

- Papermaking: 2-4 p.m. on July 13. Fee is $5 for members and $10 for non-members as Hope Cook leads a session on making paper with recycled paper, a kitchen blender and window screen.

- Decorative paper: 1-4 p.m. on July 19. Fee is $25 for members and $45 for non-members as instructor Jill Stoffregen teaches a variety of techniques for making decorative paper with common materials.

- Open print studio: 1-4 p.m. on July 26. Fee is free for members and $ for non-members.

410 Project

- Drawing from animals (children's class): Noon-2 p.m on Saturday. Fee is $5.

- Drawing from the interior (adult): 6-8 p.m. on July 11. Fee is $5. Explore the process of doodling.

- Painting colors on canvas (children): Noon-2 p.m. on July 13. Fee is $5.

- Gesture drawings (adult): 6-8 p.m. on July 18. Fee is $5.

- Materials (children): Noon-2 p.m. on July 20. Fee is $5. Create art from a variety of materials.

- Relief printmaking (adult): 6-8 p.m. on July 25. Fee is $5. Learn to carve and print relief plates.

- Drawing from moving objects and sounds (children): Noon-2 p.m. on July 27. Fee is $5.
