Fab Four, Beatles tribute band, coming to Mankato

MANKATO — It’s probably safe to say The Beatles will never play in Mankato. But The Fab Four are nearly as good.

Billed as the best Beatles tribute band in the world by the LA Times -- and there are hundreds -- The Fab Four tout “uncanny, note-for-note live renditions that will make you think you’re watching the real thing.”

The band is comprised of more than a dozen band members -- including an Ed Sullivan impersonator -- and members not only sound like, but look like the original Beatles. The Paul McCartney impersonators, of course, play left-handed and also play the piano as the real McCartney did on tracks like “Hey Jude” and “Let it Be.” Gavin Pring, one of the George Harrison impersonators, even shared a stage with McCartney .

The original group, which includes founder Ron McNeil, along with Ardy Sarraf, Rolo Sandoval and Michael Amador, have performed together as The Fab Four since 1997, covering nearly the entire Beatles songbook, plus solo material.

The Fab Four were a headline act during Liverpool’s annual Beatleweek in 2004, 2008 and 2011 and recorded three songs for the TV film “The Linda McCartney Story.”

The stage show includes three costume changes representing every era of the Beatles ever-changing career. The band has performed around the world, including Japan, Australia, France, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Germany, Mexico and Brazil.
