---- — Q: I saw your previous ideas for a healthier Easter basket and am wondering if you have any ideas for Mother’s Day? I would like to get my mom a nice gift, but I want it to be healthy and thoughtful.
A: Mother’s Day is soon to arrive (Sunday) and it’s time to make your mom’s day extra-special. One way to do that is to put together a gift basket especially for mom. Who doesn’t love a thoughtful gift with meaning? Show your appreciation for your mom by bundling her uniqueness into a basket; you will be sure to put a smile on her face.
Pick a theme for your basket. To make the basket unique to your mom, think about her hobbies, activities and interests. Does she like to cook? Is she health-conscious? Or would she appreciate a basket of beauty products to pamper herself? Is she a gardener? Does she love yoga? After deciding a theme, list out five or six items that could be part of that basket. Whatever you choose, make sure to bring honor to your mother.
Active Mom Snack Basket: The healthy foods included in this basket help keep the mom-on-the-go energized. To top it off, the foods will also have mom jumping for joy from their delicious taste. Pile flavored coffee, fruit and nut bars, dark chocolate almonds, sweet potato chips and trail mix cookies into a fun and sassy new tote bag.
Pampered Mom Gift Basket: All moms deserve some pampering and self-care. Give your mom a basket full of natural care products that she will love to use. Splurge on new body care products, lip moisturizer and soothing face wipes, then throw in a fun, new nail polish and a book. Place it all in a decorative basket for a treat she is sure to enjoy.
Gardening Mom Gift Basket: A gift that keeps on giving – give mom a hanging basket that will produce through the season and will remind her of you. A perfect way to help mom to health. Arrange a hanging basket of flowers, garden gloves, seed packets and décor in a new planter pot and watch your mom smile with delight.
Gluten-Free Treat Basket: If your mom has special dietary needs, remember to look for foods that she can enjoy. If your mom is gluten-sensitive, spend some times walking our gluten-free section and gather some of her favorites and some new splurges too. Granola clusters, crackers, chocolate bars, kettle corn, bread, chips and salsa are tasty and healthy snacks for mom’s avoiding gluten.
Enjoy the smiles you will receive when you give the perfect gift basket!
