Old County Buffet donates to Toys for Tots

The Mankato Old Country Buffet as well as the 13 other locations in Minnesota teamed up to donate more than 1,000 new toys to Toys for Tots this holiday season.

Former Mankato residents win AMG Heritage Award

Ron and Sondra von Arb, former Mankato residents and founders of Grandparents for Education, were nominated and won the Artists Music Guild Heritage Humanitarian Award.

Grandparents for Education members go to all schools, K-12, and help students in need of learning English, math and reading. They currently have approximately 100 active volunteers.

Metropolitan State University graduation

Michael Muchiri of Mankato graduated from Metropolitan State University during the April commencement ceremony.

Boy Scouts annual Robotics Camp-in (two pics)

Fourteen Boy Scouts earned their Robotics Merit Badge during a camp-in held on Dec. 28.

The Lego EV3 Robots were purchased by Twin Valley Council using a grant started by 3M Companies from Fairmont and New Ulm.

Art Institutes International-Minnesota

Amy Burgess of Mankato graduated from the Art Institutes International-Minnesota in their Dec. 14 ceremony.
