Mankato Symphony Orchestra

Edie Bailly LLP announced that Mankato Symphony Orchestra is the winner of the Non-profit Resourcefullness Award and the $10,000 check that comes with it.

The award honors outstanding efforts in revenue generation.

Mankato Symphony Orchestra won the award for its Music and Brews initiative.

Cenex Tanks of Thanks

Dianne Brandt and Tom Maloney of Mankato were selected to receive free fuel from the Tanks of Thanks program.

The program rewards people who do good deeds to help make their community a better place.

Each month, 100 nominees are randomly selected to receive free fuel from the program.

Brandt was nominated for being an oustanding mother and Maloney was nominated for his dedication to helping those with disabilities.

Both will receive a $50 Tanks of Thanks gift card.

Eagle Scout award

Eric Xavier Westberg of Boy Scouts of America Troop 29 in North Mankato will receive his Eagle Scout award at a Court of Honor to be held on Sunday, Nov. 17.

For his Eagle Scout Project, he planned and supervised the retiring of over 200 American flags provided by the American Legion Post #518.

Westberg has been involved in scouting since 2004.
