---- — ST. PETER — Brent Krohn brings some expertise to the YWCA promotion he's part of today. It's not the first time the I&S Group structural engineer has puckered up to kiss a porcine snout.

His thoughts on the experience during his high-school homecoming festivities: "It feels very slobbery."

Krohn is one of five community celebs the YWCA has chosen to help bring in cash for its second annual Pigs & Pinot with a Purpose event 5:30-9 p.m. today at Chankaska Creek Ranch & Winery near St. Peter.

Other people prepared to plant one on a baby pig are: Barb Dorn, the YWCA's new executive director; Chad Goerish, an active member of the community; Mary Kaus, market representative for Cambria; and Joel Runck, weekend anchor for KEYC.

To vote for a potential Pig Kisser, go to www.mankatoywca.org. and click on a celebrity's name to vote. A jar waiting to be filled with votes will also be available at the winery tonight.

Pigs & Pinot with a Purpose tickets cost $65. Attendees will be served a pork dinner and wine made from local grapes while they listen to music performed by Real Easy Ques'tet and Farewell Milwaukee. Music starts at 6 p.m.

Votes will be tallied and the winner will be announced about 8:30 p.m. tonight,.

Proceeds support the YWCA's work within three signature programs: Girls on the Run, Walking in Two Worlds and The Elizabeth Kearney Women's Leadership Development Program.

Sponsor presenter for the 2013 event is ProGrowth Bank and event chairs are Michelle and David Schoof.

Last year's inaugural event raised $12,000, YWCA Associate Director Sheri Sander-Silva said. This year's goal is $20,000.
