MSU: Award-winning illusionist performs Friday for Family Weekend

MANKATO — Minnesota State University is hosting illusionist Leon Etienne at 8 p.m. on Friday.

The award-winning Etienne will perform in Bresnan Arena as part of MSU’s Family Weekend. The performance is free and open to the public.

From Etienne’s website bio:

Etienne has more than a decade of professional performing experience. He has performed for thousands of audiences in hundreds of venues all over the globe, including five of the seven continents and numerous TV shows and programs.

Etienne was voted the 2011 Campus Entertainer of The Year by Superior Programming Magazine, CNY Magician of the Year and Stage Magic Champion from the Magicians’ Alliance of Eastern States. In addition to developing his own original magic effects, Etienne has traveled the world spending time developing his craft and learning from the modern-day masters of magic.

He is one of only 200 magicians worldwide who attends Fechter’s Finger Flicking Frolic, an annual invitation-only magic convention.
