Fort Ridgely State Park programs
Fort Ridgely State Park will be holding two programs today.
First at 3 p.m. the park will be hosting a Archery class. This program covers the basics of archery including safety, proper care of the equipment and how to shoot .
Then at 7 p.m. there will be a program on macroinvertebrates, which are aquatic bugs that we can see with our eye and live in the rivers, lakes and wetlands. This program will have people collect and identify samples from the creek.
Visitors for both programs should meet at the creek picnic area down by the campground.
Causes of the U.S.-Dakota War
Join Historian John LaBatte as he examines the reasons behind the conflict at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Fort Ridgely.
After the program there will be a Battlefield tour at 2:30 p.m.
Admission is $5, or free for Minnesota or Nicollet County Historical Society Memebers. A state park vehicle sticker is required for all.

Magic Medicine Show
MANKATO -- Watch a traveling medicine show of the early 1900s at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday at the Historic R.D. Hubbard House, 606 S. Broad St.
The show will have an emphasis on Kickapoo Sagwa Remedy history. There will be different activites between the shows.
The event is free and open to the public. Tours of the Historic Hubbard House are available at regular admission prices.

Benefit for Christina Dunn
MANKATO -- There will be a benefit dinner for Christina Dunn from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at Buster's Sport Bar and Grill, 1325 Madison Ave.
The event will feature an all-you-can-eat hog roast and sides, live music, bean bag tournament, bar olympics, silent auction and kid's activies.
Dunn suffers from a variety of medical complications.
