Solos and singles convention

WASECA -- Waseca area solo parents and singles is hosting its 45th annual National Solos and Singles convention today and Saturday.

There will be a dance both nights at 7:30 p.m. at the Waseca V.F.W.; at 9 a.m. Saturday there will be a delegates meeting with lunch.

Gustavus performance season opens

ST. PETER -- The new performance season at Gustavus Adolphus College will start with Johann Sebastian Bach's "Brandenburg Concerto No. 5" performed by a chamber ensemble comprised of Gustavus music faculty and their students at 7:30 p.m. today in the Jussi Bjorling Recital Hall.

The performance is free and open to the public.

Glow Run for Camp Sweet Life

MANKATO -- There will be a 5K Glow Run and Kids K fun run/walk to raise money for Camp Sweet Life at 7 p.m. Saturday at Sibley Park in Mankato.

Wear your best glowing, neon, flashing items to take part in glow fun. The kids K will start the event with the 5K immediately following. The event also includes Bounce House, kids actives and Mankato East DJ.

Registration for the event is $15 for adults and $10 for youth ages 17 and under. Registration includes a Glow-in-the-dark t-shirt and goodie bag while supplies last. To register go to campsweetlife.org. Same day registration is availble from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

All funds go directly to Camp Sweet Life, a local non-profit serving the needs of youth with Type I Diabetes and their families.

Half-way to St. Paddy's Day

KILLKENNY -- The city of Killkenny will be hosting a Half-way to St. Paddy's Day celebration on Saturday.

The event will include a visit from a sitting mayor of Killkenny's sister city in Ireland, Killkenny City.
