Autumn arrives with Range Street event, Oktoberfests

Autumn has arrived — and a slate of events this weekend prove it.

For starters, North Mankato establishments Spinner’s and NaKato are teaming up to host the Range Street Fall Kickoff 4-10 p.m. today.

The two bars will close the portion of Range Street that separates the two establishments and host a pair of live bands: Last Train to Memphis and The Barefoot Winos. There is no charge for admission.

And secondly, area Oktoberfest events begin this weekend.

The St. Peter Oktoberfest got underway Thursday and continues today and Saturday at the intersection of South Minnesota Avenue and Grace Street. Eagle River anchors today's music lineup while IV Play anchors the Saturday lineup. For more:

The Pub 500 Oktoberfest will be held 3-8 p.m. on Saturday. The bar located on Front Street in Mankato is hosting the Donnie Klossner Concertina and the Schell’s Hobo Band.

The dual-weekend New Ulm Oktoberfest will be held Oct. 4-5 and 11-12. For more:
