— An Otisco woman and her 13-year-old daughter raised a short-lived stink over stolen perfume Tuesday before they were tracked down at their home.
Angela Beltran Soto faces felony theft charges after a Kohl’s employee told Mankato police the pair was seen about 6:20 p.m. taking perfume in the store and hiding it.
According to police, Beltran Soto refused to stop when confronted by an employee outside the store and fled in a vehicle, nearly striking the employee as she backed out of a parking stall.
The vehicle’s license number was recorded and Waseca County Sheriff’s Department deputies went to the woman’s residence and arrested her.
The perfumes are valued at $1,020. A number of bottles, some broken, were recovered outside the store.
The 13-year-old was not taken into custody but faces unspecified charges
