Harold H. Voight, age 80, of Blue Earth, died Monday, February 16, 2009, at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital, Mankato. Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 20, 2009, at 11:00 AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Mark Wilms & Rev. Stephen Bohling, officiating. Burial will be in at a later date in Woodland Hills Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation time will be one hour prior to services at the church. Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Blue Earth is assisting the family with the arrangements. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.com.

Harold was born May 29, 1928, in Arlington, MN, the son of Henry and Johanna (Meier) Voight. He was raised and educated in Arlington, MN, and graduated from Mankato West High School in 1946. Following school, he served in the U.S. Air Force and returned home to Mankato where he worked at Nielsen’s Nursery for 11 years. He later began working for Honeymead in the maintenance department. He retired from Honeymead in 1989, after 30 years of service. He was married to Janis A. Jones on February 28, 1976, in Mankato. The family moved to Blue Earth in 1990 where Harold was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post 89.

Harold is survived by his wife, Janis Voight of Blue Earth; his daughter, Julie (Dan) Stevenson of Mankato, his daughter, Dawn of Texas; his stepson, Steven Dero of Mankato, his stepson, Jason Dero & fiancee Julie Finch of Cottage Grove; his stepdaughter, Debbie Puckett of Toronto, Canada, his stepdaughter, Dawn (& Earl) Salmons of Middleburg, Florida, his stepdaughter, Janet (Tim) Spencer of Blue Earth; his brother, Reuben (& Loretta) Voight of Mankato; 9 grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roland and his wife, Lola Voight; sister, Lois Miller; and stepson, Kenneth Dero.
