Published July 02, 2008 11:53 pm - Jane M. Armstrong, age 56, of Iliamna, Alaska, and formerly of Good Thunder, died on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Immanuel-St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 5 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Good Thunder with Father Brian Sutton officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. at the church with Eulogy starting at 12:30 p.m. The burial will be at St. Matthew’s Cemetery in Vernon Center. Landkamer Johnson-Boman Funeral assisted with arrangements. Memorials are preferred to the family.
Jane was born August 10, 1951, to Clinton and Dolores (Caven) Armstrong. Upon graduation from Good Thunder High School, Jane attended Mankato Cosmetology School. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and was also a Eucharistic minister in Iliamna, Alaska. Jane was employed with various retail businesses but her love was cutting hair. Jane enjoyed visiting with family and friends, was a great conversationalist, an excellent cook and was our very own “Ann Landers.”
Jane is survived by three brothers, Jerry of Anchorage, AK, children, Zach, Sarah and Jake (Karrie); Jack (Deb) of Shakopee, children, Ryan and Alyssa (Brad) Wilner; Jeff (Deb) of North Mankato, children, Nathan and Michelle; five sisters, Jean (Tom) Andresen of Mankato, children, Kelly (Nathan) Meehling, Kimberly (Quinn) Hammond, and Kari Andresen; Jill (Michael) Hartman of Billings, MT, children, Courtney Jo and Michale; Jan Droste of Boone, IA, children, Jodi Schultz and Jessica (Michael) Kline; Joleen (Jim) Gehrke of Good Thunder, children, Nell, Molly and Clinton; Janel (Dan) Fox of Amboy, children, Katie (Kyle) Schreier, Luke (Karen), Anna, and Jon; and 14 great-nieces and nephews.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Robie Droste.
