Eagle Lake — John D. Reid, age 64, of Eagle Lake died July 2, 2009, at his home.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2009, at Woodland Hills Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bart Fletcher officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. noon, until time of services on Monday at Woodland Hills. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park.
John was born October 8, 1944, to Melvin and Winifred (Bird) Reid in St. Peter. He graduated from Garden City High School. John married Nancy Spoors June 10, 1967, in Mankato. He served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1965. John worked many years in the flower milling industry for Hubbard Milling and later for Cargill. He had many hobbies and interests, but he especially enjoyed fishing, camping, telling everyday stories with his humorous twists and occasional trips to the casino.
He is survived by his wife Nancy; 2 sons, Curtis (Stephanie) Reid of Vernon Center and Anthony (Crescentia) Reid of Madison Lake; daughter, Chantel Reid of Apple Valley; 2 grandchildren, Justina and Jacob Reid of Vernon Center; brother Earl (Shirley) Reid of Vernon Center; 2 sisters, Lyla Krenik of Cleveland and Thelma (Lyle) Pahl of Vernon Center; many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents.
