Published August 20, 2008 12:50 am - Former North Mankato resident, Robert “Rob” Schmidt, age 30, of Lake Crystal died Monday, August 18, 2008, at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital the result of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident on Sunday.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 21 at Woodland Hills Chapel. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. TODAY at Woodland Hills Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Rob was born February 13, 1978, in Mankato to Roger and Nancy (Violette) Schmidt. He graduated from South Central College. Rob was employed as a machinist at Enterprise Machinery, Mankato and Kato Engineering.

Rob enjoyed racing BMX bikes, skateboarding, snowboarding and motorcycling. Most of all, he loved his dog, MoJo.

Survivors include his parents, Nancy and Roger; and brother, Christopher. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bert and Betty Violette; and his paternal grandparents, Harold and Magdeline Schmidt.
