North Mankato resident, Erma Gertrude Blume Door, age 96, died Thursday, September 3, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, September 7 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with visitation 12: 30 p.m. until time of the service. Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Woodland Hills Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Erma Gertrude, daughter of Fred and Margaret (Knaak) Wiederhoft, was born July 12, 1913 in Lewisville, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Fieldon Lutheran Church, the confirmation hymn was “My Maker Be Thou Nigh.” She married Edwin Blume and the couple farmed in the Lewisville-Rapidan area, moving to Mankato in 1944. She worked for Johnson Reel. In 1972 Erma married Gordon Door. Erma was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, was in the church choir for 17 years, and many years back she also belonged to the German Choir. Erma also belonged to the Kato Hiking Club.
Erma is survived by grandchildren, Kathy (Scott) Bailey, Kevin Jones; great-grandchildren, Trisha (Travis) Nelson, Steve Baker; brother, Albin Wiederhoft; stepson, George Door and his wife Marcy; 4 step-grandchildren, 7 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Margaret Hahn; 2 sisters, Nadine Splinter and Elvera Wiederhoft. Erma will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
