Published October 12, 2008 11:28 pm - Eugene Schultz, 69, of Spicer, MN, formerly of St. James, died on Friday, October 10, 2008, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 16, 2008 at St. James Catholic Church with Father Thomas Cook as celebrant. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in St. James. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at St. James Catholic Church from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a Christian Mothers Rosary scheduled at 4pm. Eugene F. Schultz was born in St. James, MN, on October 8, 1939, the son of Joseph and Evelyn (Syverson) Schultz. Gene was raised in the Catholic faith, he was babtized, confirmed and attended 8 years of Catholic school. He graduated from St. James High School. Gene worked at Tony Downs Foods for two years before going to work at Roadways Construction where he worked for almost 40 years. On September 15, 1979, Gene married Judith Christianson at Rochester. Gene and Judy continued to live in St. James until 2006 when they moved to Spicer, MN. Gene’s favorite past time was fishing in Northern Minnesota.

Eugen Schultz is survived by his wife Judy Schultz of Spicer, step-son Mark Hepler of St. Paul, brothers Gerald (Delores) Schultz of Mankato, Richard Schultz of St. James, numerous nieces, nephews and a great-niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Robert and infant Cecil, sister-in-law Carolyn Schultz, and a great-nephew Dustin.
