Bob Brekke’s Your View letter May 2 had it right about the gas price problem.
As long as the two major parties keep taking money from the petroleum industries, we will not get the problem fixed.
We have enough oil as new fields are opening up in North Dakota.
We hear there is a shortage in refinery capacity now. There is a solution that I have sent to state and federal officials and have gotten no answer.
Only 3 percent of vehicles sold today need a grade of gasoline above regular unleaded. So, why are we producing three grades of gasoline? Produce only two grades and the refinery capacity increases immediately. The price also would fall immediately.
Since our elected officials won’t touch this, take matters into your own hands. Buy only regular unleaded or super unleaded. Don’t buy middle grade.
No one buys it, they won’t produce it.
