Pork purchasing plan robs the many to help the few
Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s $50 million pork purchasing plan is “pork” at its finest.
Klobuchar, along with Agriculture Secretary Ed Shafer, bring us yet another wealth redistribution scheme, which does little more than rob all taxpayers for the benefit of a select few.
In a global economy, this type of shortsighted protectionism hurts us all, especially Minnesota families who are struggling to put food on the table in the first place. Artificially maintaining high food prices directly affects these families, some of whom may be forced to turn to — you guessed it — food shelves, school lunches, and other subsidized nutrition programs for help. At least they’ll have some tasty pork to eat.
