Rep. Tony Cornish has been the subject of widespread ridicule and scorn for his belief that students should be able to carry a firearm on college campuses. I think it should stop right now. We need to curb this rash of violence in our society.
Therefore, I implore Cornish to continue to fight the good fight. But don’t stop with students on college campuses packing heat. Why not start in high schools as well?
It’s probably not advisable for seventh graders to walk around with a piece, but I could see a “gat” being issued with the completion of a driver’s license test.
What about airports? You want to stop terrorism in the skies? Arm every passenger with a .44 Magnum. Slip ’em in right next to the vomit bags.
How about vehicles? Anyone who drives should keep a rod in the glove compartment. That’s gotta cut down on road rage.
Our new mantra? Shoot now — ask questions later.
God bless you, Cornish, for your sensible, level-headed thinking. To paraphrase our hero Dirty Harry, “You went ahead, and made my day.”
