Your View: Remember land, wildlife are precious

Farmers are seeing record prices for their crops, prices they haven’t seen in a long time. Because of these prices, a lot of farmers who are enrolled in the CRP program are thinking of removing these acres to be planted.

For many years, farmers took advantage of this valuable program for a little money for land that wasn’t worth much. It didn’t pay a lot but it stopped a lot of erosion and saved a lot of wildlife.

A lot of people feel farmers should really weigh their options. Land is so precious. Along with our wildlife, it shouldn’t be abused
