Your View: Young vets, families need support

Francis Rowe, Eagle Lake

Going off to war as a young man was trying, to say the least. We went when our names were called — as our veterans are doing today.

I lost a classmate and my spouse lost two in Vietnam.

As a class project, the Class of 1966 ( my spouse’s class) felt obligated to take up a collection of money to put those children left behind through college.

A very important fact to remember is these young vets are doing the same thing, and any help we can give those families left behind our fallen heroes will benefit the next generation of Americans.

God bless those young men and women serving the military today.
