Michael Burger, Mankato
— I want to thank Tim Gieseke for running for the District 19A House seat. We need more candidates who are not from the GOP or DFL. I would have liked to see a true independent or a person from another party get in this race, too.
For years, I have been asking people to step up and run for office either in the IP or as a true independent. I also would like to see candidates from the Whig Party of Minnesota run for office.
I ask all of you in District 19A to give Gieseke full consideration for this office. We need people who are not from the two major parties to be in our legislature.
Jan. 9, on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe”, it was said that cockroaches and root canals have better polling numbers than Congress. I would think those polling numbers would be equal to our state Legislature.
How can you trust the GOP to run our state when its own party is over $1 million in debt? How can you trust the DFL to run the state government when it is raising taxes and has huge spending bills ready for passage/
If you want our state government to run effectively again, then vote for candidates who are not in the major two parties. It’s time for a change in government and Gieseke can help make that happen.
