Your View: Dennis Dieken would be valuable council member

By Nita Johnson, Mankato

— Dennis Dieken is running for city council in Ward 2 as a write-in candidate this November. Dieken is opposing Tamra Rovney's position.

Dieken has been employed at MICO, Inc. for 24 years and is currently one of their production engineers. He's a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in North Mankato and served on the board of trustees for two three-year terms. Dieken is pro-life, married 30 years to Sharon and a 20-year resident of Mankato.

I feel Dieken would be a valuable city council member because he has a can-do spirit and is a good man. He knows how to work with people of different views and backgrounds to solve problems while working to function as a committee or council member. He would be an incredible help in developing ideas, structuring goals, sensing our needs and keeping our values.

Dieken feels serving on our city council and helping our community would be an honor. He is willing to walk the talk and juggle the workload of city assignments with demands of a full-time job. When these factors are taken into account, along with his knowledge and experience, Dieken's commitment to Ward 2 is impressive indeed.

Since Dieken is a write-in candidate, his name will not appear on the ballot this November. On the ballot find Ward 2, write his name in on the line provided and fill-in the oval beside his name.

We need Dieken for Ward 2.
