Your View: Bookmobile serves many who need it

Amy Hunt, Henderson

— I wanted to write to express my heartfelt gratitude to the North Mankato City Council and all the patrons who spoke up and asked for their Bookmobile to be spared.

Being the Bookmobile librarian is more than a job to me. I consider the patrons that use the Bookmobile to be my extended family. It was very hard to say goodbye to those members that live in Blue Earth County this month after their stops were eliminated by the Blue Earth County Library. I am so glad that the rest of my stops were restored at the recent North Mankato City Council meeting by a unanimous vote.

I see every day how important this service is to the children and adults that I serve. I often feel like Santa Claus when those little people get on and their faces light up at what I have brought for them.

This is the only library that many of my patrons are able to get to, and they do appreciate it and use it. I love stocking it with things I know they will like. I am so happy that I will be able to continue this service to the residents of North Mankato and greater Nicollet County.
