I am wondering where our Minnesota Department of Transportation learned how to build roundabouts.
Here is “dumb.”
They built the roundabouts at Highway 14 and Nicollet County Road 41 with a mountain in the middle. Completely wrong. You want to be able to see the oncoming traffic on the other side of the roundabout so you can gauge your speed while entering the roundabout. As it is, you don’t see the car to the left until it is on top of you. This is an accident waiting to happen.
Here is “dumber.”
Just a few days ago they made the mountain even higher and planted a forest on top of it.
Good grief! All you have to do is get on your computer and google “roundabout central island height.” You will not find any roundabouts with mountains in the middle.
They even give you plans for building one. OK MnDOT, what planet did you learn about roundabouts on?
