Centrists embrace good of both parties

---- — In reply to Bob Jentges’ letter published Saturday: Tom Maertens was quoting other sources in the use of these terms. So the quote you cite from Winston Churchill proves that he was quite insulting and uncivil himself.

Those of us who are centrists embrace what is right about being conservative and liberal, not the extremist views of either viewpoint. Oh, and speaking of uncivility, the Republican Party is extremely uncivil in the way it treats American citizens who need food stamps, senior citizens who live on Social Security, children whose parents are low income, and yes, women’s decisions about their health care.
