Leland McCormick, Mankato
— Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (Republican), considered by many to be a possible vice-presidential candidate in 2016, recently stated in an interview with NBC’s Education Nation, that he supports teaching creationism in public schools and letting students make up their own minds about whether creationism or evolution is the better science.
This comes from the man who called upon the Republican Party to “stop being the stupid party.” Right on, Bobby.
While we’re at it, let’s also teach the “theories” that the sun goes around the earth, that the earth is flat, that the earth is only about 6,000 years old, and that fossils are the devil’s way of leading us astray.
We’ll all sing hallelujahs as we march ourselves right back to the 13th Century, where we can join the Taliban in their fundamentalist love of ignorance.
