As I was driving home from work in the late afternoon on the first 100 degree spring day, I saw, proudly wearing their bright, neon green safety vests and picking up garbage in the ditches, were the Adopt a Highway volunteer crews.
When I honked my horn and waved, to say thank you, they waved and smiled. As quoted by Sherry Anderson, “Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless.”
Thank you to all the Adopt a Highway volunteers. If you ever need a helping hand, give me a call.
