Your View: Walz working to stop Asian carp

By Richard Carlson, Hanska

— I write with a grateful heart. For some time now, I have had a personal lobby effort with Congressman Tim Walz. I am heartened by his new emphasis on stopping invasive fish.

Asian carp would do great damage to Minnesota’s economy. Walz’s approach is shaping up to be a real comprehensive plan to stop the spread of the invasive fish.

I see his military experience in tactics to stop Asian carp far down stream.

We need to endorse his plan to bring all states, federal government, Canadian provinces and private business together in our battle to save Minnesota from what I know to be the most dangerous fish species we have ever encountered.

We must save the Minnesota River. Stop Asian carp.

Thank you, Tim Walz.
