Published May 01, 2008 10:50 pm - Foreclosures are expected to increase in the region this year, but not by as much as in 2007.

Area foreclosures rising at slower pace
Blue Earth County may see decline in 2008

South-central Minnesota is projected to have more foreclosures this year than in 2007, but the rate of increase appears to be slackening off.

That’s based on a projection from HousingLink, a Minneapolis nonprofit that released a foreclosure report with 2007 data and a look at what this year might hold.

There were 147 foreclosures last year in Blue Earth County. And based on the pace of foreclosures so far, HousingLink estimated that there will be 125 foreclosures in 2008, a 13 percent decline.
