Assault reported, man arrested

— Assault charges are being requested for a 19-year-old Mankato man who allegedly assaulted his former girlfriend after a chase involving cars.
Someone called police at 3:47 a.m. to report a disturbance on Walnut Street in downtown Mankato. The woman reported Anthony James Weis had used his car to chase her while she was with friends in her car, Mankato police said. The woman reported the incident resulted in her crashing into another friend’s car.
Weis was arrested near the Holiday Inn. Police are requesting assault charges.
