Authorities searching for predatory offender

Waterville man cut ankle bracelet in Faribault

WATERVILLE — Minnesota Department of Corrections officials are searching for a predatory sex offender from Waterville who has been missing since Monday.

George D. McIntosh Jr., 25, was released from prison Aug. 30 after serving sentences for two felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct convictions. He and another man were arrested in July 2007 after two girls under the age of 16 reported McIntosh had provided them with alcohol and had sexual contact with them.

McIntosh is a level three predatory offender. Offenders at that level are considered the most likely to reoffend. He has been on intensive supervised release since he returned to Waterville.

Authorities reported Wednesday they have been searching for McIntosh since he cut a GPS tracking device off his ankle Monday while he was in Faribault. McIntosh is a 5-foot-9 white man with shaved red hair and blue eyes. He weighs about 160 pounds.

The Department of Corrections has been working with the Le Sueur County Sheriff's Department and the Waterville Police Department to locate him. Citizens are being warned to not attempt to contact McIntosh. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is being asked to call 911 or the Department of Corrections 24-hour tip line at 651-603-0026.
