ST. PETER — Ann Rosenquist Fee, a longtime employee at Minnesota State University, has been named executive director of the Arts Center of St. Peter.
The announcement, made recently by the Arts Center's board of directors, says Fee's appointment is effective Jan. 6.
Fee is director of planning and administration for the Division of University Advancement at Minnesota State University. Prior to that she served as director of publications and editor of the MSU alumni magazine, Today. Fee is also a musician, writer and arts advocate.
“Ann’s passion, energy and experience will help bring us to the level where the Arts Center is helping to frame the discussion around the importance of arts in everyday life, in the community and in the state,” Board President Judie Ziemke said in a statement. "The Arts Center Board is delighted that Ann shares our enthusiasm and anticipation about what lies ahead.”
Fee's appointment, the Arts Center said, was the result of a nationwide search. The organization partnered with ArtLab, an organizational development program of Arts Midwest, to conduct the search.
Former Executive Director David Goldstein resigned in May to assume a position at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.
Fee, who earned bachelor's and master's degrees at Illinois State University and a master of fine arts at the University of Southern Maine, will be publicly welcomed at a special event to be announced in January.
Since 1979, the Arts Center of Saint Peter has hosted creative performances, classes for youth and adults, exhibits and more. Its gallery is free and open to the public.
