Fire heavily damages home near Janesville

JANESVILLE — No one was injured in a fire that extensively damaged a house on the outskirts of Janesville Monday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to a call about 1 p.m. to the Mark and Wendy Hill residence southeast of Janesville reporting a fire in the garage. A breezeway connected the garage to the house.

The Hills, who are displaced from their home for an indefinite time, went to stay with relatives, Janesville Fire Chief Randy Cummins said.

Firefighters were on the scene about three hours. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
