WINNEBAGO — An Christmas morning explosion heavily damaged a large building at the Corn Plus ethanol plant in Winnebago, but injured no one.
Winnebago Fire Chief Jesse Haugh said his department was called at 3:15 a.m. Christmas Day and they were on the scene for three hours.
The explosion was in the dryer building.
Haugh met with the state fire marshal and Corn Plus officials Wednesday and the fire marshal is continuing the investigation.
Corn Plus said in a statement it is continuing operations but did not comment further.
