---- — MANKATO — A 22-year-old Mankato man is facing felony and gross misdemeanor assault charges for allegedly fighting with a police officer arresting him for domestic assault, then struggling with another officer who took him to jail.
Officers were sent to the Colonial Square apartments in the 300 block of Ramsey Street after a woman called 911 to report a man wouldn’t let her into her apartment. When officers arrived, they found Cody Dale Fogelquist following the woman outside.
While an officer was asking him what was taking place, he allegedly became aggressive with one of the officers. He was forced to the ground and a stun gun had to be used twice to get him to cooperate, according to a criminal complaint filed in Blue Earth County District Court. Fogelquist also had to be restrained at the jail because he continued to struggle with another officer, the complaint said.
