Mayo Clinic Health System’s southwest Minnesota division announced this week it has laid off 42 transcriptionists, half of whom work in the Mankato area. The handling of transcription services will be transitioned to Precyse Solutions, a transcription services business serving health care organizations across the U.S. Precyse will begin its work with MCHS Jan. 6, the day after the layoffs go into effect.
“Staff are Mayo’s greatest asset and decisions that may impact staff are not taken lightly,” MCHS said in a statement issued this week.
“Mayo Clinic Health System leadership is committed to helping impacted employees every step of the way. Human Resources representatives will meet with impacted employees over the next few days to help them better understand their options which may include future employment within or outside the organization.”
