MINNESOTA LAKE — Seven Wells residents were in two vehicles that collided on Highway 22 in Minnesota Lake Sunday morning, but five escaped injury and the others were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Francis Delmundo, 61, was eastbound on Fourth Avenue in a 2005 Chevy Malibu and Kevin Hersom, 28, was northbound on Highway 22 in a 2007 Dodge Ram pickup when the two vehicles collided in the intersection at 11:47 a.m., according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Delmundo and his passenger — Erlinda Miller, 63 — were transported to the hospital in Albert Lea with non-life-threatening injuries, the patrol report stated. Both were wearing seatbelts and their airbags deployed.
Neither Kevin Hersom nor any of his four passengers — Lacimae Hersom, 26; Dacimae Hersom, 5; Paige Hersom, 2; and Izak Hersom, 1 — suffered any apparent injuries, according to the patrol. The patrol didn't detail how the five Hersoms are related. All were wearing seatbelts.
The Dodge received minor damage and the Malibu was totaled.
