BEMIDJI — The Western Collegiate Hockey Association announced Tuesday that its women's championship weekend will take place at Bemidji's Sanford Center next season.
The Final Face-Off will take place on March 7-8, 2014. Bemidji is the seventh city to host the event in the 15-year history of the event. Four of the last five took place at the University of Minnesota's Ridder Arena in Minneapolis.
The WCHA tournament will begin the previous weekend at home sites with the four winners of the best-of-three series advancing to the Final Face-Off.
Ticket information will be announced at a later date.
Despite major changes in the WCHA men's conference this coming season, the women's league remains the same. Minnesota State and Bemidji State are the only schools in the new-look men's league that offer women's hockey.
